Paris Hardcore is back on the map with this promising new outfit. Count To React's music is a great and powerfull interchange between Metalcore and oldschool hardcore orchestred with 2 frontmen (oldschool versus newschool vocals style).
CTR has already played a bunch of shows and shared stages with bands like Kikcback, 25 Ta Life, Irate... Not a good onstage presence for the moment, but i think it s gonna change.
Watch out for these guyz, you won t be disappointed.

DAYS OF DISCORD
"The thong behind the thug" (cd-r)
Days Of Discord is one of the most promising band outta paris. After a first demo in 2005, they released last year a MCD called "The Thong Behind The Thug". After few seconds we know it's gonna be massive. Close to the early Full Blown Chaos and Bounz The Ball supported by a raw production, the record is a great mix between heavy hardcore, bashing mid tempos and killing breakdowns. We expect a lot from these guys, so be sure to check them up : they worth it.

Enfin in da street apres plusieurs mois de galère d'enregistrement. Tantôt annoncé sur GANGSTYLE Records, tantôt sur ISCREAM Records, les rumeurs ou autres stratégies marketing DIY ;-) n'ont eu cesse de se propager à l'égard de cette sortie.
Le cd sortira finalement sur le propre label du groupe NO FEAR TO BLEED records.

ESPRIT DU CLAN
"Reverence" (cd)
Chapter O, chapter 1, and now chapter 2 learnedly entitled "Reverence". Is it because EDC is taking its reverence? By listening to this album, certainly, it is undeniable the EDC continues its take-off of the hardcore scene towards the metal/nu metal scene. You understood it, their new album is resolutely metal, already by the artwork (wholly black cover with a photo of cow 's squeleton) and by the music its self.
It's a fact, EDC passes from a angry styled hardcore from the streets, like merauder to traditional metal certainly well done but without reel originality and power.
Reverence however starts with the piece which illustrates this album, a title rather well done and energetic predicting the best for the rest.
Vain joy, starting from the third title, it all gets out of breathe, leaving place to titles of a deep and soporiphic linearity, vocals are average, monotonous, not powerful and we don't hear enough the guitars.
In short, you understood it, we don't find anymore the EDC than we knew. Their ardour, their rage against the whole society, against life is always present but seems diminued and if found in softer songs as if the band had thrown their weapons to the ground. But yet according to the lyrics of the last song "no nothing has changed, we are still full of rage and unity".
To notice is the featuring of their friends of the parisian band "Es La Guerilla" (ex member of EDC, Drowning, Knockoutz) on the song entitled "Babylon".
In the end, this album is a big deception but as EDC says " we can't please everyone".
EDC remains for me a band built for shows, where they show all their fulgurating energy.

LAST QUIET TIME

Des cendres de Value Driven nait Last quiet time, groupe de old school hardcore parisien, straight edge et fier de l'être.
Cette démo est tirée a 550 exemplaires, chaque centaine a une pochette déssinée par un membre différent du groupe. Pour ce qui est de la pochette de Philippe Wagner, la présentation est sobre mais tres efficace, noir et blanc et la petite ''special touch'': la photo de chaque membre est accompagné de son ''pit move'' préféré!
Pour l'aspect technique : le son est tres bon (surtout pour une démo!) guitares ''crunchy'', tous les instruments et la voix se distinguent bien.
Après la sympathique intro instrumentale, la première chose qui frappe c'est la voix criarde à la American Nightmare, ça peut en rebuter certains et surprendre ceux qui s'attendaient a un Value Driven bis, mais une fois passé l'effet de surprise on se rend compte qu'elle rend pas mal du tout! Pour continuer les comparaisons avec VxD les guitares sont beaucoup plus mélodiques et variées mais garde toujours ce côté tranchant du old school bien fait. Une batterie très solide et une basse bien assise solidifient le tout! On a bien sûr droit à tous les éléments classiques : accélérations, breakdowns, pickslides mais ils sont plutôt bien arrangés et à aucun moment on a l'impression d'avoir déjà entendu ce morceau autre part. Les paroles traitent de la ''working class'', de la violence, du straight edge et de choses plus personnelles (Blind emotions) sans jamais trop tomber dans des clichés.
Deux chansons sortent du lot: ''X for fate'' avec sa superbe intro et son très bon jeu sur les deux guitares, et ''Ourline'' pour la pure aggression qu'elle dégage, et sa férocité déjà fort appréciée en live.
Le seul véritable bémol est selon moi, les back-ups: ils sont ici fait par une (peut etre deux) personnes, et ça aurait rendu mieux avec plus de personnes, mais bon rien n'est parfait, ce n'est qu'une démo après tout!
En résumé une très bonne démo pour ce combo parisien, si vous avez l'occasion allez les voir sur scène, c'est toujours un bon moment! Allez la commander sur leur site wwww.lastquiettime.fr.st et keep it burning!

First MCD for this parisian band and a good shot. It's nice to hear some old fashioned stuff away from all the nowaday lame metalcore. This is how metalcore should be, how edge metal is, like it was on the late 90'. True, honest, angered, melodic without compleasant harmonies, fast and heavy on the same time. The artwork is a bit cheap, no japanese design this time even if the lyrics still got a big influence on that culture. Well it's DIY baby ! Think old caliban, old heaven shall burn, old narziss, neaera. Anyway, the guys should be on tour this year, don't miss them.

Total new school hardcore brutality filled with devastating beatdowns and crushing mid-tempo stomp parts, Providence’s downtuned mix of basic bludgeoning aggression and more complex structures conjures up a dark and bleak vision. TIL, hailing from Paris, have been around for 6 years ago - their debut full lenght after 2 MCD release on RPP and Final Beatdown records !!! 12 brutal hxc tracks in pure TIL. The music is extremely dark death metal mixed up with hardcore. lyrics fuel this dark mix even more and dont avoid subjects that are considered to be taboo..
TIL is a band you will love or hate. there s no way you can stay neutral after hearing this cd.
TIL est de retour en force ...Un full-lenght album de 12 titres propre au style du groupe et quelques experimentations electroniques ... TIL reste un groupe très puissant et efficace ....Le groupe nous assénent de parties tres dansantes et n'hesite pas à utiliser les breaks a outrances..Ce que j'aime chez ses parisiens c'est ce cote tres sombre dans la musique mais surtout dans la voixc du chanteur (Julien) ......La production est tres bonne ..... A avoir absolument ....... PS : je noterais au passage que TIL reprend 2 titres de leur anciens repertoire ....pour ceux qui avaient du mal avec le son du premier mini-cd chez RPP - 2 titres avec des guests excellent !!!
