The band was born in October 2001 in Brussels, Belgium. In the beginning the main goal of this band was to have some fun, playing the old-school hardcore style of music which they liked since Day One. A demo came out in July 2002, and the first album (Off the sidewalk) was released in April 2004 on the band's own label 'Massak Records'. Lawstreet 16 had the chance to share stages with bands like Ensign, Good Clean Fun, Shelter, The Misfits, Inhuman and many more. The band also briefly appears in a movie called Aaltra, featuring, amongst others, Benoit Poelvoorde, main caracter in the classic 'Man Bites Dog' movie.
